Black Isle Style handcrafts all its Union Jack pendants individually from a product called Friendly Plastic. The design process begins by constructing a base for the pendant. This is done by melting the Friendly Plastic and cutting it into the pendant shape. The Union Jack design is then constructed piece by piece, by cutting the Friendly Plastic, arranging the design and melting it onto the base. The pendant is then shaped, cooled, dried and finally varnished. Both the up-coming 2012 London Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee have provided the inspiration for the Union Jack range, which is available from www.allunionjack.com.
The diamond shaped Union Jack pendant has been designed to honour the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and retails as £14.95. Currently, the diamond range reflects the traditional colours of the Union Jack flag and the Union Jack flag design.
